DHS Secretary John Kelly floated the following potential border policy when detaining families entering the country illegally:

“We have tremendous experience in dealing with unaccompanied minors. They will be well cared for as we deal with their parents.”

According to Business Insider, the children…

“would be put into the ‘least restrictive setting’ until they can be taken into the care of a US relative or state-sponsored guardian…”
